ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 Users Group

The Users Group was established in January 2001, following the publication of IEEE Std 1471:2000, Recommended Practice for Architectural Description of Software-Intensive Systems. The purpose of the Users Group is to serve as an open forum to discuss issues pertaining to the Standard.

With the joint ISO and IEEE revision of the Standard now completed, the Users Group mailing list will be the primary source of announcements, calls for participation, etc., pertaining to the use and evolution of the Standard.

Scope

The Users Group provides a forum for discussion of any and all topics related to ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 (formerly IEEE 1471) and architecture description in general, including:

• Questions about the Standard, its concepts, terminology and usage
• Feedback from users of the Standard
• Theory and practice of architecture description
• Use of other tools, notations and techniques (such as UML and architecture description languages) in the context of the Standard
• Analysis and modeling of stakeholders and concerns
• View modeling and integration of views
• Defining viewpoints
• Use of ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 with other standards
• Networking with others with common interests in architecture description
