IEEE Std 1471 Users Group

The IEEE 1471 Users Group was established in January 2001, following the publication of IEEE Std 1471 (2000), Recommended Practice for Architectural Description of Software-Intensive Systems. The purpose of the Users Group is to serve as an open forum to discuss issues pertaining to IEEE 1471.

With the joint ISO and IEEE revision of the standard underway, the Users Group mailing list will be the primary source of announcements about the revision, calls for participation, etc.

Scope

The IEEE Std 1471 Users Group provides a forum for discussion of any and all topics related to IEEE 1471 and architectural description in general, including:

• Questions about IEEE Std 1471, its concepts, terminology and usage
• Feedback from IEEE Std 1471 users
• Theory and practice of architectural description
• Use of other tools, notations and techniques (such as UML and architecture description languages) in the context of IEEE Std 1471
• Analysis and modeling of stakeholders and concerns
• View modeling and integration of views
• Defining viewpoints
• Use of IEEE Std 1471 with other standards
• Networking to other professionals with common interests in architectural description
